Wadebridge straddles the River Camel about five miles upstream of Padstow, which puts it in the middle of the Camel Trail rather than at either end.

The town itself is a market town with a proper high street, so the other half of this route is shopping trips, appointments and market days rather than tourism.

The showground just outside town brings a lot of traffic when something is on, and local roads back up in a way they do not the rest of the year. Booking ahead on those days is worth it.
